This is a good recipe http://www.riverford.co.uk/recipes/view/recipe/cucumber-pickle

I would halve or quarter your cucumbers lengthwise before slicing image

looks like you've left them too long, cucumbers are picked green and unripe, they can turn yellow if left long enough.

unless you are growing from saved seed from last year? as I've heard that cucumbers and courgettes can sometimes crossbreed?

  • Morning Dove, thankyou very much for that image. treehugger, no i dont think so as they actually started being big and fat ( i just thought they would lenthen out, which obviously they didnt) They just expanded. Thing is, apart from the skin, they taste nice but far too big so will try Doves recipe. image

    Thanks guys.

Looks like a crossed seed. Two years in a row I planted melons from different packets of commercial seeds. Both years produced end results of obviously crossed seed. There's no real excuse for commercial producers to sell crossed seed. Most of the seed sellers are only re-sellers, packaging seeds bought in bulk from producers. Who, in these cases, have let quality controls slip.

  • Oh ty Italophile. Yeah they did look a bit Bizarre lol image. The rest seem to b going ok (but seem smaller than should be), from one extreme to the other eh? image
