Rabbit proofing - chicken wire - hole appeared!

Found a hole in my chicken wire today - well the dog found it actually.  I cant belive a rabbit was motivated enough to create a hole.  i cant think what would do this, any ideas?

Surely a rabbit would rather dig under chicken wire than chew through it?

Have you never seen "The Curse of the Wererabbit"!  It's a documentary made to look like an animation so as not to terrify the population.

Usually a rabbits foot is very lucky but its teeth are bucked.

Its new(ish) gardens, so not much on either side. So...only culprit could be a very motivated or confused rabbit?

Nope, none of the above.  How odd, i had heard they can dig under a wire fence, but not bite through it.

Wow! Is that a real pic? Is it a huge rabbit or a really small Sheltie?

The hole is indeed about rabbit sized.  But a normal rabbit.

Large type of show rabbit called a Flemish Giant - love them image

I've had the same problem - they will chew through the wire, especially if there's hedging or rocks the other side. If you garden is neat and you are able to - you can put a single strand wire electric fence around the edge bit to be honest they are a pain and always going to get in somewhere. Best off protecting anything precious with an inner defensive ring then trying to keep them out altogether.
