Rhubarb, Isle of Ely
in Fruit & veg
I've recently begun to collect rhubarb plants, the latest addition being a variety known as 'Isle of Ely'. The owner of the nursery where I bought it from advised me that he had acquired this along with many of the varieties he sold from Harlow Carr gardens in Harrogate but they had been unable to give him much information on the plants and I would be most grateful to anyone reading this who has knowledge of and/ or experience of growing this particular variety.

In the Isle of Ely there's a place called Grunty Fen - it holds (or used to hold) an annual rhubarb festival. Whether that has anything to do with your rhubarb I have no idea, but it may be worth exploring further.
