Pruning the bottle brush

my daughters bottle brush has got too big. We don't want to harm future blooms. How and when is it best to prune ?

    This one is tricky. You will loose blooms whatever. I cut 40% of the blooms back to a new leaf straight after flowering every year to try and keep it more compact. However if really over grown, be strong and cut back hard all over to shape you require, feed well, and miss a years bloom. Good luck

    absolutely agree with Verdun, it is a difficult project to prune a mature bush back.
