Peas

I planted some peas for the first time, all was going well lots of flowers, lots of pods, I picked them today for dinner & only a few of the pods had peas in, what did I do wrong?

    Were the pods nice and fat?

    They were picked before they were ready, or perhaps they were mange tout.

    The pods felt firm but it was air, don't know what variety they were, I think I may have picked them too early as some had tiny peas in them, thank you for your repliesimage

    When I pick peas I usually check a pod to see what the situation is before I pick the lot.
