Yes, Verdun, the thread title did use the word Morrisons, but the main push was to support dairy farmers. If you were facing the prospect of losing your life's work, wouldn't you want a bit of support?
I think that we often fail to appreciate that without farmers the landscape of this country would change beyond recognition and not in a good way.
We have managed to let our power supplies, the next generation of nuclear power stations will be run by the Chinese.
Our railways are mostly owned by foreign companies, please don't let out farming go the same way. In an increasingly unstable world, we must retain food security.
Jeremy Corbyn talks a lot of sense on these issues.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Your right punkdoc, look at our car industry, water sold off, clothing imported, when do you see an item with Made In England on it, not anymore, and this why we are in such a mess and in debt because we don't produce anything anymore, it's sad very sad : (
Absolutely Pdoc! He does - but it will cost money - and the vast majority of British public are so used to cheap food and very short-termist in their - my fear is that even if he gets into power and starts changing things, the media will do what it does best and spread dissatisfaction and he'll be voted out after one term and we'll end up with Mrs T Mark II in his place
It was Mrs T who got rid of our manufacturing industries because she was in thrall to the bankers - she thought this country could be supported by the Financial Services Industry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look where that got us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think that it's only farmers who get a rough deal from supermarkets they have a bad record for riding roughshod over many of their suppliers, now we have to ask ourselves is this just to boost the supermarkets own profits or is it so they can keep prices low for their shoppers? Either way they seem to be taking advantage of their suppliers in one way or another allegedly!

not only power, but I think the only water company NOT owned by a foreign company is Cornish Water. I don't suppose they supply much of the country.
Can anyone tell me one single benefit to the domestic consumer from the privitisation of the water industry?
The price of water has risen exponentially and we have no choice over who supplies our water.
