Definitely not the only deaf person in the world - I have family members who have a hereditary hearing problem which has been very severe for some of them. It it does no harm to keep reminding people of the ways the world could be made more accessible.
As for the BBC, unless the UK government changes things, the B probably refers primarily to the licence-payers who fund them, so not sure what you mean
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
What I mean is - do the people who run BBC think it was developed for their own gratification or for their customers' enjoyment, interest, learning. I know nothing about these people but I do know I don't think what is produced is worth paying for with the exception of a very few excellent programmes. The Internet is great especially for deaf people but, once again, the BBC is not supplying customers needs,
