sambuccus racemosa

B3B3 Posts: 27,477
I bought a sambuccus racemosa last year and kept it in a pot to see how it would go. It's doing well, perhaps too well. It's growing quite big. Anyway, my problem is, I didn't read the label properly when l bought it and now realise that if I put it where I intended, the leaves will get burnt to a crisp. Unfortunately, there just isn't a good place for it in the shadier side of the garden. It seems happy so far in a pot on my NNE- facing patio. Is it practical to keep it in a large pot? Grateful for any advice B

That's what I'm going to do now following your advice on previous post. Grasses very expensive at the moment so I thought I might be able to get smaller plants in the spring.

It's doing so well I don't want to lose it. I have a shady spot in front of an ivy wall. Acer and glaucous rose doing well there about 25 ft from house will get morning sun once higher than fence and will be sheltered from the midday sun by the house. I suppose I could put it there what do you think V?

I've got sambuccus Black Lace in a very sunny spot in my garden and it does really well.  Don't know if the variety would make a difference though.
