Flower help!

in Plants
I have my border (very small, direct sunlight although slightly shaded by shed part of the day, ph 7-7.5) ready for flowers to be planted but would it be the wrong time of year to plant things now? I have a strawberry plant, bluebell bulbs and poppy seeds which hopefully will grow next year, but I wanted to add in some flowers/plants I can look at now! If I wanted forget me nots and salvia for example would I be able to buy the flowers in pots at a garden centre and plant them this month or would I have to wait until next year and sow the seeds at the right time of year? Hope this makes sense!

Plant the bluebells, don't store them. Depending on the type I might sow the poppies as well. You can plant anything from a container now as long as you keep them well watered but take care on what you buy. Some of the brightest colours are on the less tough plants and they might not be there next year. A lot depends on where you live, the not so hardy plants do well in places like Cornwall where they wouldn't for me in East Anglia and even less chance for those further north
