I've seen peregrines take gulls on the wing at Tintagel but think they were Common Gulls, not a whopping Herring Gull.
We have peregrines nesting on Norwich Cathedral spire each year and they've certainly cut down the feral pigeon population in the city, as well as taking a wood pigeon off the ridge of our house roof.
The city council plays a recording of the sound of peregrines in the city centre to keep pigeons off the library, the guildhall and St Peter Mancroft - perhaps a cd of peregrines would be enough to cut down on seagull problems?
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I found that fencing did the trick. It was, as Bushman says, expensive but I've had absolute peace since we had the fencing put in. We still do see rabbits, but the other side of the fence in the wood which backs onto our garden.
If ever your up north in Scotland go to Dunrobin castle at Golspie. There is a falconry display twice a day. The falconer flys Greyr , eagle owl harris hawk and Peregrine its a very impresive display by a very able falconer. Charley glad you rabbit free now. Fencing is a lot of hard work but is the most reliable.
