chestnut canker

hi folks. my two horse chestnut trees are badly infected with bleeding canker disease and i have to fell them. i am told that i cannot use the timber in my woodburning stove, can anyone confirm, yes or no ? advice would be much appreciated.

It's such a shame because seasoned chestnut wood is normally ideal for longburners as it give out a good heat - it's less than ideal for open fires as it spits out.
