Lobelia cardinalis 'queen victoria'

I have a group of about 10 Lobelia cardinalis 'queen Victoria', half of them are fine but the the others have all collapsed with drooping stems. Does anyone know why or what I can do. I'm new to this gardening lark and don't know what I'm looking for.

Thanks, will give it a try.
  • How do I access ACre's issues about lobelia cardinalis?
  • Hi - I may have similar issue. Bought 3, planted in moist soil. Stems drooped on all 3 after couple weeks. Replaced them with 3 others, surrounded them in chicken wire and added slug pellets to base not knowing what was the issue. All 3 again on way out despite the wet weather of last couple weeks (July 2020). Could it be a virus or a bug? Does anyone know of any treatment? Many thanks for any advice

Often cultivated and used as a pond-marginal , these plants can tolerate 30cms of submersion .
Unless the soil is exceptionally wet , I've never found them to be a great success in a border .
