Fauna not flora ....excuse me!

I was always told  by my mum never to start a sentence with an apology ......so no apology .....I would like some advice please.....we would like to know how we can humanely get rid of a bee nest inside our building blocks ....I can see them flying in and out and they are no threat at all but I believe eventually there could be an issue if the hive grows ?

They sound like a type of solitary bee - perhaps the Masonry bee - lots of info here http://www.stockport.gov.uk/services/environment/envhealth/pestcontrol/commonpests/mortarmasonrybees/

They won't do any damage and are very beneficial insects to have around.  Lucky you image

  • Call a bee keeper and they'll do it for you.     If you don't know where there's one locally then your local council will let you know.

See if there's a local beekeeper individual or society that can come and advise.  If it isn't solitary bees, they will know how to extricate the queen and take her colony somewhere safe for them and for you.

Thanks for the advice all......our apartment is in Moscow......so the term "local bee keeper " is somewhat redundant........unless of course Mr. P decides to turn his hand to something completely different , hopefully this will not be censored  image

some, ( many ? ) of us wish Mr P would be censored.

I'd not worry about the bees, I'm sure they're doing no harm, and will move on in due course.
