Healthy cucumber?

First attempt at growing cucumbers, This one has been in my greenhouse for a week or so, its massive compared to the shop bought ones, it looked almost ready and i thought id wait till it was all dark green but instead seems to be getting lighter, so ive harvested it.

is there something wrong with this one and is there anything i can do to help the rest of the ones growing.

i have 2 plants in a plastic greenhouse. i water them every 2 days, feed with tomato feed once a week. I only open the greenhouse when watering to keep the heat in.

Its ripening. They are best picked while still dark green, but when they have stopped expanding.  A fine judgement I know, but you'll get the hang of it.

It looks over ripe to me, think you missed it when it was dark green.

Just happened to be looking through an old gardening magazine last night when I came across an article "undercover grower" with a picture of a leaf which looks like your cucumber and it says "extreme light can bleach leaves a sure sign that more shading is required." Could the cucumber have been bleached by the sun?

I agree with barry island, the cucumber is scorched by the sun. This can happen down here in France where I grow my cucumbers and tomatoes outside. I don't take off too many tomato leaves as the fruit can turn white in the hot sun!
