Blackberries
in Fruit & veg
hello - looking like a great year for blackberries here in the East Midlands. Ones around us have already started turning a lovely shiny black, still a bit sour though. Anyone else noticed signs of a bumper crop?

So far great in Herts
I picked loads yesterday, was washing them when 3 year old grandson asked to taste one, I said he may not like them.... He had about 20, I tasted a few and really sweet this year. They are really early this year too.!
No blackberries yet, flowers only just been pollinated here in my part of Lancs. Bumper crop of currants and strawberries though
Other than jam and crumble, any other delights to make with them?
Only flowers.
I've been watching the hedgerows of wild blackberries this summer - think we're in for a good free harvest in East Anglia

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
In my garden (at the foot, near veggi plot, wildlife bit) already frozen. Tootles, muffins, instead of blueberries, breakfast cereals porridge,, smoothies, topping cheesecake, with meringue and cream or ice-cream. Lovelly, just off for breakfast!!!
Wine!
Thanks for the ideas! Will Defo be trying some of those. Muffins and wine and liquer top the list!
