Sorry no pictures. I have a weed in my garden. It is not a wildflower because I don't like it! It has bright green soft hairy leaves and stem. They have an unpleasant sort of meaty smell when crushed. It is a creeper but individual plantlets can grow to about 2ft. It has small pretty magenta and white orchid like flowers that are grouped together in a cone shape. It is quite invasive but easy to pull out. Hope one of the site sages can help. Thanks in advance
In London. Keen but lazy.

Sounds like Stachys sylvatica, Hedge Woundwort, to me.

Sounds like Betony. Have a check on google images
Betony doesn't smell horrid and is unlikely to be a garden weed (it would be welcome in mine!).
