Rampant Amaryllis

15 years ago my dear Mother in Law gave me an Amaryllis bulb for Christmas. I have kept it in growth all this time and get flowers every year. I divided the bulb several years ago and now have two pots full of both large and small bulbs. I wonder whether I should divide them all up again into smaller pots or leave well alone. The leaves look healthy and the flowers beautifu,l yet they receive no special treatment whatsoever. I would be very sad if anything I did caused harm.

    Well, as your previous division was successful, I'd be tempted to go ahead. But I also appreciate your apprehension, considering the plant's great sentimental value. Maybe you could consider just dividing one pot's worth and see how that goes, then repeating with the other if all's OK.
