Kathy2, if you really want rid of your lawn weeds, buy a good lawn weedkiler, this as suggested will kill the weeds and feed the lawn, ask your local garden centre for advice on products.
Thanks spider. I can cope with the odd dandelion, buttercup, daisy etc but this weed took over. I used lawn weedkiller, which hasn't done anything. I tried Roundup for paths on just one clump and it killed off the weed, but it obviously killed the surrounding grass. It's only a very small patch so I will clear it out and put some grass seed down. I can't / don't want to do that to the whole lawn or I wouldn't have a lawn left. I would rather get rid of it without chemicals, asI did by digging out the dandelions with a daisy grubber but it would take forever. (Not to mention the bad back and knees by leaning over for so long)
