Santolina

one for Verdun?

when do I cut back my Santolinas?  I did so in spring this year but then had few flowers.  Just googled it and it says spring.  Perhaps I should have done it earlier In spring? (Can't remeber exactly when I did it.) Or maybe should do so now - will it have time for any new growth to harden off, and will it look like an eyesore?

I've found sites which say prune in 'late winter/early spring' - if that's any help image

  • rather delayed note to say thanks both.  Will try earlier in the year.  I do like the flowers.  It grows so huge so quickly it does need a good cut back each year.
