Plant ID please
I feel I should know this, but I don't. I have several of these in my garden, and originally thought they were a type of cotoneaster. But since clearing and digging around the garden I have found several labels saying 'Bamboo buxus'. As there are several plants and several labels, I've put two and two together, and made... five? No idea what a bamboo buxus is - the leaves are bigger than box - about 2cm in length. Ideas?

Hi, LG
I'm pretty sure it is a Cotoneaster. What size is the plant?
Shouldn't a Librarian know that Librarians Garden should either be " Librarian's Garden" if it's the garden of one Librarian, or " Librarians' Garden" if it's owned by more than one Librarian?
Off to Pedants' Corner with me.
p.s. definitely a Cotoneaster, one of hundred though.
That's a cotoneaster.
In the sticks near Peterborough
It's small, they're all small as they were cut right back in January for some fencing work. They were pretty big before that, but engulfed in the overhrown-ness of everything around them.
There havent been flowers, but that's probably because of being cut back?
look up C. Simonsii and see if it matches.
Ha - I'm now feeling *completely* at home among pedants!
I entered it as 'Librarian's Garden' but the site removed the apostrophe. It irked me, but I decided to reframe it in my mind as a statement of fact: librarians do garden (well this one does).
Cotoneaster it is (I have others, but they're very clearly cotoneaster). Anyone know what the heck 'bamboo buxus' might be? Not bamboo and not buxus, I'll bet.
Oh yes - it matches some (enough) c. Simonsii pics very well indeed. Thanks so much.
My daughter is training to be a Librarian and inherited my Pedant gene.
