Identify this tree please

image

Hi folks again can anyone identify this lovely tree? It has a golden colour bark and lovely small leaves that look a bit like a Cornus but I cannot find it in any of my books, sites or garden center experts! It is about 20 foot tall and give a lovely dappled through. It is sprouting little ones all around it and I need to know what it is to know how to handle them, 4 in total, from now on. I think the leaves go red before fall. The trunks on one of them seem to twist around each other in places but seem healthy.

I have tried the apps to try and identify but to no avail also.

Thank you for looking in here and hope I get some answers so that I can work with them appropriatly.

Dorro, can you start a new thread with 'Lupin' in the title so the lupin growers see it - this thread is about trees and may not be read by lupin growers image

  • Thanks folks will do the less artistry thing as soon as I can and look forward to your thoughts. Although noi intention of artistry I am glad that it was appreciated as such!

Can anyone tell me why the pics load sideways please? Sorry for repeat question as I know I asked this before but cannot remember the solution! Thanks.

Cornus Kousa? Does this have the golden bark? my encyclopedia RHS does not show this but I think it is not very outdated!

As requested, on A4 for scale. The tree, is delicate and willowy with 2 stems form one that intertwine. The other twpo seem independant.

Those look like Cornus leaves. There are many varieties of C Kousa. I suggested that Cornus because the books say it has good Autumn colour.

Good luck with your quest. Perhaps you can come back on the board with a photo when it flowers. That would help us to be definitive.
