Sweetcorn
I have had an allotment for the last 5 years, and have grown sweetcorn every year, with no problems. This year, I have planted around 40 in 2 different areas. Most have got the 'male' flowers on top, but only 2 have got the 'female' silks, which bear the fruit. I cannot find any answers to this problem in any books that I have, and no other allotment holder has had the same problem. Any ideas please?

Thank you, I will keep my fingers crossed.
I've found that with some varieties the female silks emerge quite a while after the male, but somehow the pollination manages to coincide

What variety are you growing?
I have Swift F1 and the females are only just showing, nowhere ready to be pollinated.
I normally grow Prelude F1, but I couldn't get them this year, so I am growing Sparrow F1. Maybe they are different.
