violas versus pansies

Haven't posted for ages but just wanted to say well done Monty Don for suggesting violas in winter pots as an alternative to winter pansies.  He was right, loads more flowers (even though smaller) and much longer flowering period.  They have reappeared each time from all the ice and snow that winter threw at us and are still going strong.  Will have to steel myself to take them out when ready to put new stuff in!
