Fibreclay planters

Anyone use fibreclay planters? I'm seeing the word 'biodegradeable' used when I look online, do they last?

I have about 4; bought from Big Orange Box, they are about 2.5 years old and they seem OK. Although the paint(?) or the actual material has started to flake off around the bottom of the planter. Time will tell. They are a touch lighter than planters made from terracotta so I guess are kinder to the back. I don't recall them being any cheaper than terracotta ones though !

  • I didn't understand how 'bio-degradeable' could be applied too. I wasn't looking for cheap, I was looking for winter visibility to so I couldn't just see the fence.

Thus, I have ended up with Viburnum tinus 'Eve Price' to plant in the ground instead so go figure! image
