Collecting and burning fallen leaves would at least reduce the spores in the air in that area ... but our trees are never going to be 'perfect specimens' and if they were they would not be providing the rich wildlife habitat that they do.
I think we have to love them with all their imperfections

I agree. I was worried it was fatal but easily curable. many thanks. I'll monitor and report back if required (or in 50yrs). cheers
p.s. interestingly of the affected leaves its only on the edges of the leave at the moment.
