2x plant ids please

The first plant my father has planted and has asked me which plant it is as he does not know. I thought it was some type of yew but he insists its not. So im a little confused any help would be great. Plant 1

    No1 is Yew, taxus bacatta.

    No 2 looks like one of the herbaceous potentillas, but not certain

    I think it's your father who's confused (and you can tell him I said so, but say it nicely)

    that first picture is a yew.

    The second picture looks like one of the potentillas.

  • haha many thanks for that. I thought I was going mad when he said it was not yew. I have been designing a new area of garden (only on paper) with them for so long. research etc. I will have to direct him here as PROOF now. The garden heros have spoken.
