Bean plant leaves are yellow. Even the beans are yellow
It's my first time growing beans. Since I planted my beans they have been getting more and more yellow. Some are almost albino white.
I thought perhaps I was over-watering, so I cut down and that didn't help.
The top of the plant is more green, but 2/3 of it is yellow.
Now I am harvesting the beans and they are yellow too. Are these safe to eat do you think? What can I do?

Looks like the plants are lacking nutrients, have you added any plant food to the plants they do need regular feeding

I've been feeding it tomato food, but perhaps I need to try a more balanced fertilizer.
Do you think it is safe to eat what is there?
Could you by any chance have planted butterbeans instead of green beans?
I agree - they look like yellow wax beans - very tasty

Definitely were green beans when I planted them... I still have the packet.
I'll try them tonight and tell you how they taste!
What variety are they?
I once planted seeds from a packet that described them as being dwarf beans - they grew into rampaging 10ft tall Borlotti Lingua de fuoco!! Fabulous beans but not really suitable for a small container garden which was all I had at the time!!!
I contacted the company who packed and sold the beans - I received their apologies, these things happen apparently

Just a quick update on this...
I added a couple of handfuls of balanced fertiliser (for the nitrogen). Two weeks later and the beans are back to bright green again.
I am growing in a big grow bag with cheapo B&Q compost so nitrogen must have been needed.
Thanks for the tip! Now I will know for next time.
