Collecting seed from Sweet Williams
My Sweet Williams have started to finish blooming and develop seed heads. I'd like to collect the seeds but I don't know when they're ready for this. How long should I leave them on the plant to ripen or can I collect them straight away? A couple of the seed pods look like they're about to open.

I wait until the seed pods actually open. There are a lot of seeds in the pod so it does not matter if a few escape.
You could put a paper bag over the seed head and wait for the seed to fall into it.
