Do you like coffee

Just had an e-mail from CC yesterday informing me as a card member that I could have some used coffee grounds from their outlets.

So I love their coffee so a win win for me.

Was given about 30 lbs of used coffee all contained in a sealed plastic bag.

Anti slug and can be used as an amendment to your soil.

Not sure if you have a dog whether a good idea, but will put the anti slug claim to the test.

Not sure if you have to be a card member,(which is free,) and will give you points for free cups of coffee etc or whether anyone can obtain..

They are trying to be good at the recycle position.

Please no comments about tax ,.this is about use of unwanted products going back to the soil following human use..

Wish I could drink enough coffee to deter the slugs. Your free gift from Costa sounds like a good idea. A guy at the allotments gets his from Tesco's cafe.

Yes, this was in the newspaper a couple of weeks back.  The grinds are free to everyone and you can take your own container if you wish or they'll put them into bags.  Coffee grinds are a great soil conditioner as well as slug repellent. They have about the same amount of nitrogen as grass clippings meaning they heat up quickly when added to compost.  Apparently they also work well in wormery bins too.
