Clematis Cuttings

Hi can any one offer me advice on my clematis cuttings i have them in an electric propogater set at temp no 24 they have been in there for a week and i have just noticed that some off the leaves are turning brown on some of them i am watering them on a regular basis .

    They may be too warm Wills. Are you watering from underneath? My cuttings are just misted and in a GH in shade, it's warm but with plenty of air circulation. I'd get the lid off firstly and put them in a shady GH if you have one, and mist them rather than give regular watering. Only water if they are really drying out.

    Did you take the leaves off from one half of the cutting? The 3rd picture down is what I mean...

    My thought too Dave - if they're covered and in too much sun they're probably frying. Have you got them on a sunny window ledge or in a greenhouse Wills? If so, take the lids off and move them somewhere a little less scorchio! image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Hi Folks Paul yes i have taken leavf off .Fairy girl they are in my spare room also in the shade i think i will take them out of the propogater and put them in a shady corner of the green house it is my first attempt at taking cuttings and had read that bottom heat was good for them hence there in the propogater image
