Bindweed
My neighbour's garden has an area adjoining my garden, which is infested with Bindweed and is coming through into my garden. He neglects it because it consists of a large mound of stone through which Bindweed has taken over.
I have tried reasoning with him but the meeting soon ended with him shutting the door while I was still talking. Any suggestions please ? My neighbour is a private tenant - not Council. My local Council are not interested.
Could I sue the tenant or his landlady with any chance of success ?

Don't you just love reasonable people
I agree with Verdun, be proactive and put weed killer down on your side. I have the same problem with my (otherwise) lovely neighbour and her garden mint. I can't get her to understand that mint needs to be contained.
The chances of getting anywhere using the Court for something like this is, I would suggest minimal plus there's a cost involved. It would also mean that if you come to sell your property in the future you would have to declare the problem you've had with your neighbour which could put off prospective buyers.
Bindweed, horsetail, thistle etc. are terrible weeds and destroy them is almost impossible without some chemicals.
Once the roots spreads in the soil they pop up everywhere. If you try to pull the plant out the roots break and continue to grow even faster
Silvanet garden does help. It is not harmfull for the lawn. You notice the result after a couple of hours and see which plants you've forgoten to spray
I love reasonable neighbours too once just after I had moved into my house the neighbour at the bottom of the garden approached me in quite a state and asked could I do something about the weeds growing through the fence because she had just planted some trees to form a hedge and they had cost quite a bit of money and she didn't want the weeds choking them. I of course pulled the weeds out from my side of the fence which didn't take more than half an hour as there were in fact very few weeds to pull out. The neighbours trees grew to be a 10 foot high conifer hedge which eventually I had to regularly cut back the overhang from. Fortunately many years later new more reasonable neighbours arrived and took the trees down, It really was amazing how these weeds had grown so quickly.
