Digging in gravel
Hi all, Looking for some advice on getting rid/reusing some gravel in my garden.
I have a patch around 30ft long that the previous owner filled with gravel, i good 4-6in deep, now i want to plant some hedging here to give some privacy.
Rather than trying to bag it all up and get rid of it, could i dig it in and mix it with the soil underneath? Would this be to much gravel?
As you can likely tell me gardening knowledge is 0 so any help would be great.

You don't say how wide your gravel bed is but you can easily plant your hedging in to it. If it is wide enough, you could also plant other things there - ref Beth Chatto and her gravel garden - it is a beut!
Thanks for the help all.
@Hogweed, the patch is roughly 3ft wide (it is a flat part on an otherwise sloped garden)
@Verdun, the soil is a little heavy but not to bad, i will be karting off as much as i can to a neighbor to use as back fill, but i will still have a lot left.
Once you've offloaded some to the neighbour, dig the remaining stuff in with some manure and compost and you'll have a good medium for your hedging Nick.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thanks for all the tips guys and girls, all helps.
Think with a bit going elsewhere, dig some in and use the rest i should be good.
Thanks all
I had a similar "problem" here , and I just added a similar depth of well rotted garden compost and rotovated the whole lot. Worked a treat.
