I've always said that when reincarnated I would like to come back as a tree. I'm not too fussy about the species. Something native and deciduous placed in the open so that I could grow and spread my branches.
Definitely a perennial of some description. I want to be everlasting. Possibly a bit of geranium maccrorhizum - happy in most places and spreads freely. A contented plant!

Hops. Rough on the surface, but a good soul at heart. A bit grabby if left unchecked. The kind that will hog the whole bed at night and leave hubby sleeping in a tiny strip of mattress. But really a good soul, mind, deep down. Makes beer good and sweet-sleepy pillows.

Something that prefers a cool shady place, but is pretty too and doesn't get eaten by slugs or deer ? Pulmonaria.

Oak tree.
Enormous, long-lived and supports a greater variety of other species than any other. I want one planted on top of me. Eventually.
I like Pansy's suggestion though!
