Fruit trees

Hi. Very new to all of this. How or should we feed apple, pear, cherry ,damson trees. If so what do we feed them with and when should we do it.

The traditional way would be to spread a layer of well-rotted farmyard manure around the trees in the winter (making sure it is kept well away from the trunk).

I have daffodils under mine so when the flowers are over I chuck organic fertiliser all round the area. When I have enough manure, having done the veg garden I do as Dove says.

  • Thank you, will give it a go. We have bought chicken manure, do you think that would be OK
