Withered foliage on potatoes

Hello,

The foliage on our potatoes has turned yellow and in some cases withered away altogether whilst potatoes in adjoining allotments are showing healthy dark green foliage with little white flowers. We dug a couple of plants up today and the potatoes with the exception of a couple, were fine except for rough patches on the skin. What have we done wrong ?

It depends what variety you planted. My second early spuds have done the same thing and we are in the process of eating them. Maincrop potatoes will still be green and going strong.

    Thank you, Ceres.

They were 2nd earlies, Kestrel and Wilja. We have only tried the Kestrel and they are fine so will dig up some Wilja.
