Split avocado shoot... should I trim the other shoot?

Hello,

I had a quick question for you all. I am growing an avocado sprout (a childhood dream come true) but I put it in direct sunlight as a sprout and it got sunburnt! Now the burnt little tip has fallen off, but two new shoots have emerged out of the sides. One has grown upwards very quickly, but the other seems to be stunted.

Should I just trim the second shoot off? Or will it make it look quite odd as a houseplant (which is my intended use)? See pics below:

Thanks for your help!

I know nothing of growing on avocados but I'd remove the stunted one. It will never catch up with the other and may die back and let the rot in. The new tall shoot is the tree nowimage

  • Okay, thanks. It's barely been growing, if at all, so that makes sense. image
