    sotongeoff - fantastic garden.  Looks amazing - and lots of work!  Lovely! Nothing interesting in my garden but for some colour am posting some pics of Alpines from Edinburgh botanics which I wander around regularly.  I'm amazed at the fritillaries - but can never get clearer pictures through the protective grill .

    And...sorry if this is a bore but I was so excited to see some colour in the Botanics when my garden is so dull dull dull.

    What are these tiny muscari type things called - I couldn't find a plant label?

    Gardengirl - Tresco Abbey pics are beautiful.  The colour combinations are so nice and it's great to be able to visit these places and see how they organise planting flowers and veg together - like the old cottage gardeners used to do - or so I read in books and look at all the gorgeous pictures.  Here's one photo of some flowers which were planted at the edge of a veg bed last year.  Must be good to be able to produce such attractive combinations.
