GF, my garden looks tranquil but I never seem to have much time to sit in it. OH sits in it more than I do. I sit in it, when the weather is nice, for lunch.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I think the bottle sprinkler is a brilliant bit of improvisation. On first reading of your post I thought I was looking at a device called a little-ann. If I ever need one that's what I'll call it.
And as for the display of grass! I almost don't dare (but again I can't resist ) I just feel the two photos together smack (!) of some sort of visual Cockney rhyming slang... Naughty!
little ann- that pic of the wren is just gorgeous! Like Birdy- the 'jeans' are great - very amusing - and the bottle is a great idea!
Gfantic- the really dark Irises are beautiful aren't they. I've just split mine so doubt they'll flower but I may go and buy some. Had to leave loads when I moved as it was difficult to take everything.
Everyone's gardens are looking so neat and tidy. BL - I know what you mean about sitting in the garden- hard to do sometimes. At my last house there was so much needing done it was difficult to just sit. Good in the evening though as we could sit in the conservatory and look out over the pond at all the wildlife.
Here's my tomato- getting ready to ripen - not got many flower pix:
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Another great idea, little-ann (as we're both the others). Re alternative uses for bottles, did you see John Harding's idea using a water cooler bottle as a cloche. I'm all for recycling when there is a really practical alternative use for stuff we throw away.
As to your 'challenge' I suppose there is a visual parallel to the nursery rhyme about living in a shoe!

I haven't sent a pic to this thread for a bit of my flower garden (though I have to other threads) so here is another one.
And here is the bed I've just weeded, no flowers yet, just green. And plants have to be deerproof, on wrong side of deer fence.
this was sent to me by a friend so i will share
