Plants for containers in full sun

bighevsbighevs Posts: 22

Hi all, my front garden gets very warm in the afternoon sun and I need some help to replace the bulbs that havnt done much after I planted them Into my containers.

Anyideas for plants that will cope with the sun / heat and last into the autumn?

Many thanks

Heather

Petunias, verbena, Dahlias, pelargoniums, annual rudbeckias, salvia farinacea, zinnias (especially short bushy ones). They are all fine in the sun so long as you don't forget to water them. And deadheading keeps them tidier and going on longer.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Lavender at the back to give some height.  I've also put a small 'red' cordyline in one of my pots, again to provide some height without it being too solid but also The red leaves provide a contrast with red and yellow flowers.

Thankyou all very much, it's hard to know what to choose - I get overwhelmed at the garden centre. Thankyou all for your suggestions image
