They've already got the radio and she has a clock in her bed under her mat .
She is a rescue dog , two year old , thanks Lyn and the others who suggests a cage.it is worth considering .... ..... had an idea......... OH can use it when he is in the doghouse
Introducing a separation anxiety dog to a crate cab be difficult and done carefully will prevent her from being able to damage the room but I have seen them hurt themselves chewing their way out of them. Crates very much do have a use and are not cruel. People have pointed out that dogs can find them den like but getting them to that stage as an adult can take a long time.
Thank you for asking, she is settling lovely but very anxious .we have had a one to one dog behavioural adviser who was very helpful and well worth the cost .. She has stopped chewing ,but wouldn't entertain the Kong.she isn't a greedy dog but she loves a certain hard ball.
I know with time and patience we will get there with her.she is so lovin , like big soft cuddly teddy bear
thats good news, glad she's settled a bit. Keep trying with the kong, my boy is never very interested unless there is a bit of smelly liver inside it, then he;s all over it like a rash Liver, peanut butter and kibble is his favourite mix

We draped a blanket over, he loved it, the door was rarely locked when we were out as he got bigger, he just liked being in his own safe place.
you're right Steve, needs to be done very slowly, for just a few minutes at a time.
Yes it seems , some dogs love them and wouldn't have anything else .I noticed on the German Shepherd rescue that some of them had the crates .
Granma, hows the dog getting on now? Hope she's settling in better
