Christmas potatoes

Hi just purchased some christmas pots to grow in bags.

Normally chit pots for normal summer types.

No you need to bother for later christmas pots

    I'll tell you what happened to mine. I planted them in bags which I left outside. All went well until the plants got blight. It's put me off, I won't bother again.

    Apparently you only need to chit earlies, so I guess not for xmas spuds.

    I planted some in bags at the weekend, I was a bit confused by the instructions to plant in July or early august to harvest for christmas, and elsewhere it saying they should be ready in about 12 weeks.... I expect mine will take longer than 12 anyway based on my earlies.

    My first year growing spuds, I put too many earlies in each bag, but I'm learning, I now have the recommended 3 tubers per bag.
