Apple problem

Hi,

Can anyone offer any advice on the following?

I had a problem with maggots / worms in my apples last year. In another post the diagnosis was Coddling Moth

http://www.gardenersworld.com/forum/fruit-andamp-veg/apple-problem/467860.html

So this year I had a coddling moth trap in place. I placed it in the tree in April before the blossom came out and its been there ever since. I renewed the lure and the sticky pad in good time. It seems to be catching lots of moths (see picture) but I still have the nasty blemishes on the apples.

Has anyone got any ideas? Maybe its not coddling moth after all, or maybe there's just too many of them.

Any ideas would be much appreciated, see pictures.

Thanks

Jason

Still looks like codling moth. Using the traps catches males, and shows how many you have. Reduce overwintering larvae by picking up and burning all fallen apples or maggoty apples, or send in council green waste bin.  Encourage blue tits by hanging fat balls in the tree branches. Clear the area around the base of detritus to cut down hiding places for larvae. You will eventually clear them.
