anyone know what type of caterpillar this is please

anyone know what type these are, they are on my dahlias and peteunias which are next to dahlias.

i've only just noticed the little bugger has eaten that petunia flower.
Many moons ago I watched over a squadron of caterpillars on my Solomon's Seal, delighted that I would eventually have a garden full of beautiful butterflies. It turned out to be the Solomon's Seal Sawfly which stripped the plants bare then vanished. The little blighters exist to reproduce and defoliate but apart from that they have no known contribution to nature.
Hope you find out what your guest will grow up to become.
I get those every year so how do I get rid of them
The next year I removed them by hand with a soapy cloth, cut the stems right back after the flowers faded and have never had the same level of infestation again though when cutting back this year I noticed some leaves had been nibbled. I'll keep a watch out next spring to ensure the problem is not returning.
just google pug moth caterpillar and don't think it is that, i took them off and put them near the bird feeders. Have tried googling the description of my caterpillar but no luck so far.
after seemingly clearing off the sawfly caterpillars of my gooseberries a couple of weeks ago, on checking today they have stripped a few branches
and my climbing white rose has had a few branches of leaves stripped bare leaving only the spines of the leaves, wonder what that could be?
The rose leaves sound as if the Rose Sawfly larvae have been at work - it's that time of year - they don't do any long-term damage in my experience.

It's sawfly that dessimate Solomon's Seal. I hate them! The only way to get rid of them is to use serious industrial strength insectocide - sparingly and at the dead of night.
i had checked out that website earlier dove and looked at every single one and can't find it in any catagory.
I think the one in the opening post may be a Chamomile Shark caterpillar same as seen here:
