Turn the hosepipe jet on them - but there'll always be a few image

  • They are in amongst small love in a mist seedlings Dove, so I don't think the hosepipe is an option.

Then put on a pair of rubber gloves and remove them with your fingers - not pleasant but there's no better way really image

  • Does spraying them with diluted washing up liquid work for the black ones like it does for the green ones?

Well, it does, but it also kills beneficial insects like ladybirds etc.  image  The good thing is that it's not systemic.

I must admit, I love nasturtiums, but when they get a bad blackfly infestation I just pull them up and put them on the compost heap .

i've grown nasturtiums this year for the 1st time, my little girl chose them, they're not my kind of thing, but mine had blackfly infestation overnight, I wiped them off with a damp tissue, that was few days ago not back yet, hurrah!

This year seems really bad for black fly.  They are all over the garden and everywhere I go I seem to get covered in them myself!

All my cosmos are smothered in black fly - horrible.

  • I just squish them, I rather enjoy it! lol

  • I'll try the damp tissue rosemummy.
