Mystery tomato plant
in Talkback
I germinated seeds for Tumbling Tom and
Alicante tomatoes and bought 3 plugs of a black heritage tomato. A rogue plant has appeared , it is 3 feet high and bush form. It has yellow flowers like tomatoes and the stem is similar to tomato plants but the leaves are about 6 inches long and about 4 inches wide with variegated edges. Has anyone any idea what it can be. it is in a large pot in the greenhouse. Should I leave it there or take it outside away from the other tomatoes?

Not sure how to upload photos using my I Pad. I will take the I pad to the greenhouse and then have a try
Very easy if you patient! Can take a while.
So, press on green tree, select as desired then if you get masses of gobbledygook just press ok and wait. I know it's working if the background screen goes grey
good luck

Photo of rogue tomato plant ! Does anyone know what it is.
Some tomato types are called 'potato leaved' varieties and that's what you have there. Perfectly normal and probably one of the 'heritage' plugs.
That's fine - it is a tomato plant - probably one of the heirloom varieties.
There are two types of potato leaf - the ordinary ones, and ones described as 'potato leaf tomatoes' - they are related after all. That's what you've got - no need to worry.
