Greenhouse Heating

I always start off in the house and place the trays on windowsills once they've outgrown their containers, then everything is moved to a paraffin heated greenhouse for the last month or so. This helps to keep costs to a minimum.

  • Thank you again for lots of very useful advice. I only went down the route of a chunky candle because I read something by mjohn345 (26/01/2010) in his/her post about using candles to heat their 6 x 8 greenhouse. Yes it is very dangerous but I had it burning on the floor in a terracotta pot with another larger pot over the actual candle and it did seem to keep a slight degree of heat in the greenhouse. But, I certainly don't want a fire so I've taken on board everyone's advice and will learn from my mistakes.

Thanks again everyone and roll on the warm weather. image

Looks like its all out in the green house in a sleeping bag then?

Just a thought... http://www.gardenorganic.org.uk/todo_now/faqs2.php?ids=162. Might be of a faff to set up, but I'm sure it could be modified for a small greenhouse.
