tree lillies from HARTS NURSERIES

hi,has anyone else bought tree lillies from HARTS NURSERIES and been disappointed? I bought some in spring and they are now about 18 inches tall and I can see the flowers starting to form, the stems are just as skinny as normal lillies.I bought these 'award winning tree like lillies' thinking they would be as amazing as the ones I got from Thompson Morgan which grew to 4 feet in the first year with really thick stems, but I have to say they have failed to deliver.Emailed HARTS who sent a dismissive reply back saying they had won awards with them,no offer of refund.would appreciate anyone elses imput...thanks

i was reading up on these the other day as i too was thinking of buying some, according to what i read the bulbs/corms should be a decent size to start with and in the first year they should grow to about 4 or 5 feet tall and then increasing in size the following year, i think it also mentioned about difference in size whether in pots or in the ground. I think if you type in tree lilys in the search box on here there are some threads about them too, hope they get bigger next year.

lily9 i would complain and say you want replacements/refund and send them a photo, if you have facebook they have a page on there where you can post a comment, i find that usually works as companies don't like complaints on their public pages and want to be seen to be helpful image

Got mine from Wilko, they're 4-5 ft and almost in bloom.

I have had then grow about Four feet in the first year, and six feet therafter.

Whatever you do , don't buy Joy lilies aka bouquet lilies. One flower stem will fill a vase it said. Well I only got two flowering stems out of twelve, the slugs ate them as soon as they poked through the soil. The flowering stem did fill a vase, one of those little bud vases, four inches high.  The longiflorum liles that they replaced them with are flowering now, three feet high and perfumed.
