Hydrangea

I recently bought a beautiful blue Hydrangea called Enziadom but although I have lots of acid loving plants the soil is obviously not acidic enough and  now I have very pretty pink flowers. I have decided to replant into a pot but I'm not sure when the best time would be to attempt this and what pot size would be needed.

I repot anything anytime I need to.

they are tough plants, but can't say what size pot because I don't know how big the plant is.

i have some in small pots, totally neglected, never watered through the summer, that I did from cuttings a couple of years ago, they don't seem fussy so put in any pot you fancy. As long as its got plenty of growing room.

Thanks Lyn the plant is only about 45ms in height and this is probably its first year flowering so there shouldn't be much of a rootball yet. I'll wait until the flowers have past and then move it carefully.

If it's 45cms it will need a big tub.

they do better in the ground really, ok for first year, maybe two, but then they need to spread their roots.

there is something you can buy at your garden centre that you water in to keep them blue.g

It is an incredible blue if grown in the right conditions and as you have suggested I have been looking at alternative areas and I will do further tests in the meantime.

    Thanks again
