Artichoke 'Violet de Provence'

I planted these about 4 or 5 years ago and have managed to keep them growing but they have never flowered and are not very big either... should I keep trying or just cut my losses and get rid of them as I read they need replacing after 5 years anyway.

    Thanks pansyface, that's what I was thinking and I could use the space! I've given them a good feed and a talking too so I'll see how they go till August.
