Foxgloves

Tina_i_amTina_i_am Posts: 173

Can I just check a few things about my foxgloves (pam's choice)?

i understand they are biannuals, I sowed them last year and they have flowered this year. Is that the plant dead after that? There will be NO new growth next year? What do you do, do you dig out the plant in autumn or just let it die back?

I'm going to collect some seeds and try growing some in the greenhouse and grow over winter, but also hoping there will be some self seeding going on too.

Next year I want more alliums to grow in between the foxgloves.

is there anything else I should consider?

There will be self seeding, maybe not quite as Pam's Choice but still nice.

Sometimes a foxglove will go on for another year but I never feel they're as good. Others may have better results from this.

If you want more alliums between, I'd pull the foxgloves up as soon as they've seed and start afresh
